7 Tips to Keep Your Home Smelling Fresh

As a busy mom, my home is my safe haven and it's important that I keep it fresh. There is nothing that brings me more joy than to have a home that smells welcoming and delightful. When my home is freshly cleaned and smells good, I am happier, more relaxed, and feel my best. I know smells have a way of affecting moods, so I am constantly on a hunt for ways to ensure that I can keep my home smelling fresh easily and without much effort. Here are some suggestions that can help you:

  1. Open the Windows

One of the easiest ways to freshen up your home naturally is by opening the windows. Letting fresh air circulate through your home can help eliminate any unpleasant odors and bring in fresh air, making your home feel clean and refreshed.

    2. Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used for centuries for their aromatic properties. Using a diffuser or simply adding a few drops of essential oils to a spray bottle of water can help freshen up your home. Some popular essential oils for freshening up your home include lemon, lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus.

  1. Baking Soda

Baking soda is a natural odor absorber and can be used in various ways to freshen up your home. You can sprinkle it on carpets, furniture, and mattresses, leave it for a few hours, and then vacuum it up. Baking soda can also be added to the bottom of trash cans to eliminate odors.

  1. Fresh Flowers

Fresh flowers not only add beauty to your home, but they also help purify the air. Flowers like lavender, jasmine, and rosemary have natural aromatherapy properties that can help reduce stress and anxiety, making your home a more relaxing space. My favorite places to purchase flowers are Costco and Trader Joes. Not only are their prices reasonable, I have had the best experience with these flowers being fresh and lasting for more than a week at a time with proper care.

  1. Room Spray

Making a homemade room spray is an easy and effective way to freshen up your home naturally. You can mix distilled water, witch hazel, and a few drops of your favorite essential oil in a spray bottle and spritz it around your home.

In case you don't have time to make your own, our Room & Linen sprays can also meet this need. They are also easy to use and the fragrances linger in the air for a lasting experience. Another benefit our room & linen spray offers is that it can be used on fabrics which also extends how long the fragrance lingers in the room.

  1. Houseplants

Houseplants not only add a touch of greenery to your home, but they also help purify the air by removing toxins. Plants like spider plants, peace lilies, and snake plants are known for their air-purifying properties and are great additions to any home.

  1. Vinegar

White vinegar is an excellent natural cleaner that can also help freshen up your home. Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and use it to clean surfaces like countertops, floors, and bathroom fixtures. Vinegar can also be added to the washing machine to remove any musty smells from clothes and towels.

I truly hope these tips help you create a home that is welcoming and smells amazing.
